Key Texts: Psalms 33: 10-11/ Deuteronomy: 29:4 and Psalms 25:14

Psalms 33: 10-11The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever,

The plans of His heart to all generations.

Let’s put the two key verses from this psalm in front of us: Notice the words “Counsel” and “Plans”

The point of these verses is that both men and God take counsel and both plans, but in the end,  it is not the counsel and plans of men that are established, but of God’s.

THE COUNSEL OF THE LORD STANDS FOREVER

It is all-important to realize that God plans the world and he plans churches and plans lives, and his plans succeed. His plans take precedence over our plans. Our plans have significance and durability to the degree that God plans for our plans to be significant and durable. God is the all-important reality in planning from beginning to end.

God’s will is to be known, to be explicit, to be admired and enjoyed.

PRAYERS

·      (Proverbs 20:12) The hearing ear, and the seeing eyes, the Lord hath made even both of them and God says to the Israelis in the book of (Deuteronomy: 29:4) “But to this very day the Lord has not given you an understanding mind, perceptive eyes or discerning ears”

Pray to God for hearing ears, understanding mind, perceptive eyes for our Leaders in UK, Mrs Theresa May and all her Cabinet members to know the Lord’s Counsel/Plan for UK on the Brexit matter.

·      Psalms33: 16-18:  “No king is saved by the multitude of an army; a mighty man is not delivered by great strength. 17 A horse is a [d]vain hope for safety; neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. 18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy”.

Pray for the heart that fear the Lord, stoning heart to melt away and grace to walk in the Lord’s counsel and plan for our nation UK.

·      Psalms 25: 14:“The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant”

Pray to God to make his covenant/counsel/ plan on the matter of Brexit known onto our Leader.  Pray for the Lord’s fear on the hearts of our Leaders in UK and the heart of humility to submit to the Lord’s counsel and plans. To hope and put their trust on God
